Everyone turned up bright and early ready to play. Unfortunately we lost the toss and were put into bat. The OBC team had some exceptionally fast bowlers but our girls were amazing facing them always on the front foot and always ready to play. Quite a few bruises and Grace described it as the most terrifying thing she has done. None the less we managed to score a respectable 99, with Lucy top scoring on 24 followed by Lily on 12. Poor Mookee came to the game even though she was under the weather but unfortunately had to go home before her turn to bat. Big ups to Harriet who was dragged out of her PJ’s to come and take Mookee’s place. OBC were too good with the bat but Grace took a nice wicket and we had a lovely run out.
But the game finished early. Lucy got player of the day but unfortunately for us this is her last game with us as she goes up to the under 16 team. The HEAT all wish her well and know she’ll be awesome in that team. Meanwhile our little team is really getting on wonderfully and building a great team spirit which is awesome. As an aside the girls loved playing at Cobham heaps of practice balls ended up in the stream and many parents went home with wet feet. Such fun
