Year 5/6 Girls Cricket

Year 5/6 Girls cricket is played with an 8 a-side team who play pair cricket following the Christchurch Junior Cricket Association rules which allows for

• 8 a side (but you can play if you have an extra player or are short)
• 20 Overs per innings
• Play with match weight “incrediball”
• Batters bat in pairs for 5 overs each partnership
• Each bowler to bowl a minimum of 2 overs
• Playing Equipment – a Helmet and a front pad for batters and a helmet if the keeper is keeping up. (ALL equipment is provided by the club)
• Games are on Saturday mornings at 9am and are over by about 11.30am
• Grounds are local schools and parks with Artificial Wickets

Year 7/8 Girls Hardball Cricket

• 9 a side (but you can play if you have an extra player or are short)
• 20 Overs per innings. Batters face a minimum of 6 deliveries, with compulsory retirement after 25 balls
• Play with a 142g Cricket Ball
• Batters bat in pairs for 5 overs each partnership
• Maximum of 4 overs per bowler
• Playing Equipment – a Helmet, pads, gloves for batters and a wicket keeper to wear a helmet, pads and keeping gloves. (ALL equipment is provided by the club)
• Games are on Saturday mornings at 9am and are over by about midday on Saturday
• Grounds are local schools and parks with Artificial Wickets
