NWW Div 1 Scorchers versus St Albans – Hospital corner
St Albans won the toss & elected to field on a very hot day which they may have regretted. It was awesome to have Eve Doocey playing for us scoring 75, including a 110-run partnership with Olivia Paul (21). The remainder of the team defended well to be all out in the last over, building a total of 170.
The 2nd innings started well with quick fielding by Lola Holbrough running out one of their openers in the first over, then Lola proceeded to take 2 more wickets with the ball. The team kept it tight in the field despite the hot windy conditions, restricting St Albans to 57/7 in 16.3 overs. Great wicket keeping by Luce Dawson in the conditions, with only 1 bye & a leg bye.
Was also great to have Maisie Bennie-Steel playing for us, hope to see her again soon, and thanks to Millie Cam-Rule for playing 2 games, especially as Andy bought the team ice blocks.
