U16 NWWC Flames Versus OBC 4 March

Captain Millie Cam-Rule lost the toss and OBC elected to bat. Summer Karras opened the bowling with a maiden, followed up by another good over by Nicole Ridd in her first game for the U16s.  It was an eventful over, with a misjudged run ending up in a run out by keeper Luce Dawson, plus a wicket to Nicole.  The tight bowling and fielding kept the pressure on a team that has previously got away on us. The wickets were shared amongst the bowlers, with most collecting one, and Xenia Prinz collecting two. OBC were all out 69/8 in the 17th over.

Millie and Lucy opened the batting, with a solid start.  OBC just claimed the 2 wickets of Luce and Xenia. Millie (24) and Summer (19) reached their total in the 11th over.

Summer was awarded player of the day for an all-around strong performance of taking 2 catches, one of which was a caught and bowled, and a solid effort at the crease.

Thanks to Richard who stepped in to do the scoring since Matt was away, and to Andy as always for carting the gear and getting girls moving.
