Scorchers played Sydenham on Burnside #3
Sydenham won the toss and elected to bowl – this looked like the right decision as Rachel Davidson took early wickets, both with the ball and in the field while the Scorchers struggled to get momentum. It wasn’t until a great partnership evolved with Scarlet and India – 42 runs, that the innings started to stabilise and there was no stopping, India. The pitch and bowlers suited her, and she made the most of it well supported by Hayley from Div 2 in her first Div 1 game, they had a last wicket partnership of 71 runs.
Tight bowling and the holding of most catching opportunities restricted Sydenham to 73 all out off 22.2 overs.
