And so the battle of the 2 North West Womens Div 1 teams was on and off we went to Burnside park. With a few players from both teams stepping up to the Prems and congratulations to Kelly Hodder who made her prem debut, we had to call up some players from our Div 2 side. Thanks to Grace, Mookee, Nicole and Mikayla for very ably stepping in to help. We also had the very experienced Hannah Foster who dusted off her bat to step in for the Scorchers.
The Blazers won the toss and elected to put the Scorchers into bat. Edie scoring a great 44 off 42 balls with help from Lola and Olivia to set the Blazers a target of 107 for the win. Rebecca getting 2 wickets off her 3 overs for just 10 runs and Mikayla 1 wicket were the only wickets the Blazers were able to get.
The Blazers then went into bat with India top scoring with 20 runs off just 13 balls was the pick of the batters with the Blazers reaching 82 all out. Lola, Edie and Nicole all picking up 2 wickets each and Millie picking up the other wicket. A great win by the Scorchers.
