It was on overcast day with both North West Div 1 teams at Barrington Park, the Scorchers faced Selwyn/Sydenham who only had 7 players. Selwyn/Sydenham won the toss & elected to bat. The pitch was variable and with some tight bowling and pressure in the field we managed to keep them to 30 all out in the 10th over. Lola & Edie were accurate, both taking 2 wickets themselves, and contributing to 2 others. Lola with a great arm & direct throw over the wickets for Grace to collect nicely for a runout. Edie took a catch off Liv’s bowling ending the innings.
With some confident batting from all involved top scores were Phoebe (12) and India (15*). Selwyn/Sydenham opened their bowling with Greer which was a challenge for us, but we managed to be patient and got the runs with 2 wickets lost and only 6 overs required. With the Blazers partway through their first innings we then went over to support them in what was also a very convincing win.
