Scorchers won the toss and elected to bat at Barrington Park. A strong second wicket partnership (108) between India and Edie set the team up for a good score. Momentum continued with smaller partnerships between Edie & Kelly (47), Kelly & Hayley (29), with Hayley & Jessica taking the total to 236/7 in 30 overs.
The wickets were shared amongst the Syd/Selwyn bowlers. Unfortunately, their key bowler Greer was hurt in the field from a tough catch opportunity.
Tight bowling prevented Syd/Selwyn getting a good start, particularly the opening pairing of Lola and Edie. The best batting partnership was between Abby and Sherri (41), finishing 90/8 after 26 overs. The Scorchers were also tight in the field, though all wickets were bowled, except for a direct hit runout by Jessica.
