Div 3 Heat vs Rangiora CC Waimak Girls

Another great morning of Saturday cricket. Hagley Polo grounds hosted all 8 section 1, Div3 teams which made for a great atmosphere.

NWWC Heat played Rangiora CC Waimak Girls. After losing the toss, we went in to bat against quite a formidable bowling line-up. After a few early wickets, we settled nicely with Indi Osmers (24 off 25 retired) & Jordyn Dugdale (20 off 10 not out) leading the charge to finish on 5/114.

The girls did a fantastic job out in the field, rising up after a questionable early umpire call to take 2 wickets in quick succession. It was a real team effort with every girl bowling accurately, giving away minimal extras. Indi took a great catch out on the boundary, Georgie almost pulled off a diving, one-hand catch while keeping but our stand-out fielder was Charlotte Methven who ran down everything, was always looking to back-up and posted some tidy bowling stats. She was our well deserved ‘player of the day’.

The game was all tied going into the final over but unfortunately we didn’t come away with a win. The overall performance was one the girls can be proud of and was topped off by having White Fern, Amelia Kerr come and have a team photo.
