A rising star in Canterbury Cricket few players embody versatility and local pride quite like Jodie Dean. A mainstay for the Canterbury Magicians, Jodie has transitioned from a promising youth talent into an aggressive batter on the national stage.
Following her graduation in medical imaging from Ara, Jodie has now accepted a position at John Flynn Hospital in Tugun, South Gold Coast and has moved to Australia, though Jodie says it won’t be forever.

Joining the North West Family
Jodie’s cricket journey is deeply rooted in the Christchurch community. She moved to North West Women’s Cricket for the 2022/23 season, for only our third season in the CMCA Premier Women’s competition. She joined a club which had a talented group of younger players and her attitude helped to foster top-tier talent in the game. Since joining, she has been a standout performer, using the club’s competitive & fun environment as a springboard for her professional career.
This season has been standout for the club being available whenever possible and averaging 59.25 with the bat including a top score of 82* against LPCC on the 31st January 2026. PlayHQ Statistics
