The players have been training and fundraising for the trip and all the sides included players from North West Women’s Cricket.

The U15s side included Sophie Davis, Divika Gopalakrishnan and Maddie Milne played extremely well throughout the tournament beaten by only one team – Wellington Black who they went on to meet in the grand final with a heart breaking loss off the final ball 98 – 97.

The U15 development side held their own through out the tournament and were able to beat Wellington Development in 2nd semi-final to get through the plate final losing out the North Districts 15 Girls.

The U17s side had plenty of players returning for their second and third year of provincials, but with some losses in the round robin against Northern Districts and Wellington Black had all the work to do in the semi-final with a rematch against ND which Canterbury won 117-60 earning a Grand Final spot against the unbeaten Wellington Black team.

A lot of our players were very lucky to be have had an introduction to indoor cricket playing for ‘Murray’s Brakes’ side on a Friday night at Action Indoor Sports Hornby when Murray Hawes grew his team from 6 to over 20 girls over three years with plenty of energy, fun and enthusiasm.

Players then entered a Youth competing against boys sides and now there is a Youth Girls super league.
